APEC 2007 

HOST BROADCASTER - APEC AUSTRALIA 2007

GlobeCast Australia Pty Ltd was the Host Broadcaster for the APEC Australia 2007™ year. GlobeCast Australia successfully provided all Host Broadcaster services to the APEC 2007 Taskforce covering the interstate “Ministerial Meetings” in Canberra (January), Perth (February), Hobart & Adelaide (March), Darwin (May), Sydney (June), Cairns (July) and Coolum (August) and the “Leaders Week” in Sydney between 1-9 September 2007.

In its role of Host Broadcaster during Leaders Week, GlobeCast Australia facilitated and managed the International Broadcast Centre in Hall 4 of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour.
Vision facilities in the Main Press Centre’s Conference Room in Hall 5 were also facilitated.

Additionally, GlobeCast Australia provided live and/or delayed ENG news coverage of the airport arrivals of each Leader and live and/or delayed coverage of APEC 2007 events that occurred at the Sydney Opera House, the Overseas Passenger Terminal and Government House Sydney.
At its peak during Leaders Week, GlobeCast Australia’s operational staff level grew to 130 to meet the requirements of its host broadcaster role.


Two complete outside broadcast crews were assigned to cover the Business Summit sessions (5 camera coverage) at the SOH’s Opera Theatre on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 September and the Cultural Program (9 camera coverage) at the SOH’s Concert Hall on Sat 8 September.
At the IBC in Darling Harbour, the areas of host broadcaster bookings & administration, master control, teleport, studio, terrace stand up positions, videotape recordings / editing / replays / logging were all staffed by GlobeCast Australia.


Also at the IBC in Darling Harbour, unilateral facilities were successfully provided by GlobeCast Australia to a number of international organisations inclusive of but not limited to Eurovision, Bloomberg, International Media Services, Associated Press Broadcast Services, Reuters, Canadian Pool and various Japanese broadcasters.
GlobeCast Australia provided all inbound and outbound television services to the US Pool located at the Sheraton 4 Points Hotel in Darling Harbour.
