We’re tackling more in HD and 3D

Super 14

May was a superb month of HD and 3D sporting glory. The Bulls won the final Super 14 rugby union grand final ... in HD! Also in May 2010, GlobeCast Australia was moving soccer in 3D! Our fibre network delivered HD and 3D as the All Whites played the Socceroos in a FIFA warm up. Meanwhile, after three months of live rugby coverage the Bulls took honours from the Crusaders, after Australia’s final team the Waratahs – pictured - were knocked out in the semi finals. The Super 15 contest launches in 2011. But this year it all began with fourteen teams, three countries of origin, millions of viewers internationally and for the first time in 2010 more than half the action was in High Definition with GlobeCast Australia. Super 14 is the only sporting tournament in the world that is played across so many different time zones, around Australia, in New Zealand and South Africa. But viewer interest in the showdowns extends further, as far as Europe and the Middle East.

Client networks in 2010 included BskyB, Sky New Zealand, Fox Sports, Fiji TV, JSports Japan, MNet South Africa and Sky Italia. GlobeCast Australia has a stellar sporting pedigree, covering all codes of football, cricket, major golf and tennis tournaments, motor racing, horse racing and surf events, to name a few.
